Creative IT, the UK’s foremost provider of professional computer hardware and component level repair, has proclaimed that they will be expanding their operation to cater for the repair and hardware replacement needs of the schooling and education industry. As a leading provider of desktop PC, apple, laptop and games console hardware repair – they are announcing their latest expansion into the education industry.
“We are following a new avenue, and attempting to fill a gap in the market which has yet to be appropriately catered for. We realize that the majority of schools and collages use apple hardware; more specifically laptops – in their music and art and design departments. However, it is common knowledge that apple hardware is rather costly, and we are planning to offer a cost effective alternative to buying replacement systems, or shelling out on costly repairs by apple themselves.
We plan on using our years of experience with apple laptop repair, to bring in a solution to a problem faced by practically all education facilities. It’s common for computers in an environment where users/students/members of staff are constantly using the systems, to take more abuse than say a desktop pc in an office. However, it’s the portable side of the spectrum that we are more interested in, because this is where the education industry makes its biggest losses, and is also where we can uncover a new untapped market. Portable systems which are used only at certain times, but usually have to be set up often three or more times in one day, then packed away, placed into storage etc are far more likely to be damaged in a manner that a school or college would see as a cause for replacement of the system.
When a laptop is constantly being moved, plugged in, connected to peripherals, screen consistently opened/closed/adjusted, students messing around near the unit and so on; its far more likely that the laptop will sustain drops on the floor, DC failure, screen damage, liquid damage, port damage – as well as a whole host of other problems. In most cases the laptop will simply end up on a shelf in the IT department awaiting a repair, by the departments technicians – and will be replaced by a new unit depending on the damage. In most cases a damaged keyboard, faulty hard drive, RAM, DVD drive and battery are replaced – but something as small as a damaged DC jack, USB ports or a damaged screen, often puts a £1200 apple laptop permanently out of commission. Meaning that they have to spend another £1200 or more – (depending on weather the model is still available) on a new one – when we could have repaired the laptop for a fraction of the cost, and had it back in operation in less time than it would normally take for them to order a new one, and wait for it to be delivered.”
Creative IT is planning to offer services for the following apple models:
- Apple MacBook Pro – repair and hardware replacements (all models)
- Apple MacBook Air – repair and hardware replacements (plus battery replacement)
- Apple MacBook – repair and hardware replacements
- Apple PowerBook G4 – repair and hardware replacements
- Apple iBook G4 – repair and hardware replacements
- Apple iBook G3 – repair
But as well as their apple laptop repair technicians offering high quality professional, and cost effective low level apple laptop repair; Creative IT is planning to offer common spares for the majority of apple laptop computers. This includes batteries, power adaptors, screens, slot loading DVD drives and so forth.
In addition to the repair of new age apple laptops, Creative IT will also be offering a limited service to older apple laptops, such as the unfathomable iBook Clamshell G3 (all models), the G3 Pismo (all models) and also a service for the repair of very early PowerBook G4 Titanium (such as the 400mhz ~ 550mhz 7410 G4.) Although Creative IT says they will not be dealing with large quantities of these systems due to the scarce availability of parts for these older systems.
And as usual, Creative IT will be offering its leading data recovery service for apple laptops and apple computer systems; encompassing everything from migrating to a new system, recovering data from a damaged file system, recovering data after a system format – and disaster data recovery, such as a hard disk motor failure, head failure and all manner of physical damage to the hard drive.
